Great news!
"The Staging Unit is looking
forward to your arrival in San Francisco, CA on Friday,
July 6th, for the Philippines staging
event."
Wow! I could not ask for a better
city. The clock is ticking and I am finally starting to get that nervous
excited feeling accompanied by some mild panicking in realizing that the next
few weeks will go by so fast.
I have been spending a lot of time
thinking about my friends. How will I say goodbye? How will we keep in touch?
When we change and grow will it ultimately bring us closer or drive us apart?
True friendships will undoubtedly withstand the test of time.
On the other hand many friends
will go their own way and we may lose touch, but that doesn't make our time as
friends any less valuable. We were there for each other in a time when we felt
the need to reach out to another human being, and it was kindly
reciprocated.
People don't really recognize how
vulnerable this interaction is, how much of an honor it is to be let into
someone's life; to be trusted with their secrets, their insecurities and their
dreams. With all of our annoying habits, our over analysis of every
romantic relationship, our endless need for advice and reassurance, we can't
expect many people to be lifelong friends. But when it happens, it's a
beautiful thing and I am so grateful to have friends who have always been there
for me, no matter the distance.
“Friendship is born
at that moment when one person says to another: "What! You too? I thought
I was the only one."
-C.S. Lewis
